Abstract
A lighting module for a headlight in a vehicle includes: a light source; a lens; and a housing. The housing holds the light source. The housing also holds the lens at a fixed position relative to the light source and spaced apart therefrom. The housing includes an outer surface that defines a slot. A cutoff shield extends through the slot and into an interior of the housing between the light source and the lens for blocking a portion of light emitted from the light source.
Claims20
A lighting module for a vehicle headlight, comprising:
- a light source;
- a lens;
- a housing holding the light source and holding the lens at a fixed position relative to the light source, the housing having an outer surface defining a slot and one or more pins projecting from the outer surface adjacent to the slot;
- and
- a cutoff shield having a shield portion and a base portion extending transverse to the shield portion, the shield portion extending through the slot and into an interior of the housing between the light source and the lens for blocking a portion of light emitted from the light source, the base portion being disposed along the outer surface of the housing adjacent to the slot and defining one or more holes, wherein each hole of the one or more holes is configured to receive a pin of the one or more pins.
A lighting module for a vehicle headlight, comprising:
- a light source;
- a lens;
- a housing holding the light source and holding the lens at a fixed position relative to the light source, the housing having an outer surface defining a slot and one or more fixation features adjacent to the slot;
- and
- a cutoff shield formed from a bent piece of sheet metal and having a shield portion and a base portion extending transverse to the shield portion, the shield portion extending through the slot and into an interior of the housing between the light source and the lens for blocking a portion of light emitted from the light source, the base portion being disposed along the outer surface of the housing adjacent to the slot and configured to engage the one or more fixation features to secure the cutoff shield to the outer surface of the housing.
A lighting module for a vehicle headlight, comprising:
- a light source;
- a lens;
- a housing holding the light source and holding the lens at a fixed position relative to the light source, the housing having an outer surface defining a slot and one or more fixation features adjacent to the slot;
- and
- a cutoff shield having a shield portion and a base portion, the shield portion extending through the slot and into an interior of the housing between the light source and the lens for blocking a portion of light emitted from the light source, the base portion being disposed along the outer surface of the housing adjacent to the slot,
- wherein the shield portion includes two panels extending parallel to and spaced apart from one another.
