Abstract

An inflating device (10) comprising an activating sleeve (12), having a longitudinal axis (A), that is positioned within a rear opening (42) of a main body (38); a cartridge (16), having a sealed cartridge front end (98), is filled with pressurized gas and is placed within a cutout (24) of a front section (14) of the activating sleeve (16); an operating valve (40) comprising a release needle (92) that is directed toward the cartridge front end (98) is formed within the main body (38); and, rotation of the activating sleeve (12) at an operating rotation angle around the longitudinal axis (A) induces a forward translational movement of the activating sleeve (12) with respect to the main body (38) in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis (A), pressing the cartridge front end (98) against the release needle (92), and releasing the pressurized gas into the operating valve (40). During the rotation of the activating sleeve (12), the cartridge (16) is gradually covered by the front section (14) of the activating sleeve (12).
