Abstract
A connector for fluid communication includes a cam, an axle, where the axle is attached to the cam. The connect also includes a biasing agent configured to rotate the axle. A movement of the biasing agent rotates the cam about the axle and exerts a force that biases a port on the connector. The connector also includes a backplate that has an axle housing, where the axle is rotatably mounted to the axle housing.
Claims20
A connector for fluid communication, the connector comprising:
- a cam;
- an axle, wherein the axle is attached to the cam;
- and
- a biasing agent configured to rotate the axle, wherein movement of the biasing agent:
- rotates the cam about the axle;
- and
- exerts a force, wherein the force biases a port on the connector.
A connector for fluid communication, the connector comprising:
- an axle comprising a recess or a protrusion;
- and
- a cam attached to the axle, wherein the axle is configured to rotate the cam;
- wherein rotation of the cam exerts a force, and wherein the force biases a port on the connector.
A connector for fluid communication, the connector comprising:
- a plurality of cams, wherein individual ones of the plurality of cams comprise a first curved surface for exerting a force in a first direction and a second curved surface for exerting a second force in a second, opposite direction;
- an axle, wherein the axle is attached to the plurality of cams;
- and
- a biasing agent configured to rotate the axle, wherein movement of the biasing agent:
- rotates the plurality of cams about the axle;
- and
- exerts a third force, wherein the third force biases a port on the connector.
