Abstract
A method for detecting cavitation or a bubbling-in or inflow of air within a hydraulic system. The hydraulic system includes at least one electric motor-driven pump for conveying a liquid pumped medium. The method includes capturing at least one operating parameter of the drive motor which influences the torque of the drive motor. The method also includes determining the variance of the operating parameter thus captured over a defined observation period. The method also includes detecting cavitation and/or of a bubbling-in or inflow of air in the hydraulic system, in the event that the variance value thus determined exceeds a defined threshold value.

A method for detecting cavitation and/or a bubbling-in or inflow of air within a hydraulic system having a pump configured to convey a liquid pumped medium, comprising:
- capturing at least one operating parameter of a drive motor of the pump which influences the torque of the drive motor;
- determining the variance of the operating parameter thus captured over a defined observation period;
- and
- detecting cavitation and/or of a bubbling-in or inflow of air in the hydraulic system, in the event that the variance value thus determined exceeds a defined threshold value.
