Pump health monitoring system

A method for monitoring health of a pump, the method comprising:

• measuring, with a flow sensor, a flow rate of the pump;
• measuring, with a pressure sensor, a pressure of the pump;
• determining an identity of the pump from identifying details of the pump;
• retrieving a set of processing rules that are specific to the identity of the pump;
• processing operating details of the pump with the set of processing rules to identify a current operational status of the pump, wherein processing the operating details comprises computing an operational parameter derived from the flow rate and the pressure;
• comparing the operational parameter to a baseline operational parameter that is specific to the identity of the pump;
• and
• initiating a corrective action when the operational parameter is outside the baseline operational parameter.

A pump health monitoring system, comprising:

• a sensor unit removably attached to a pump, the sensor unit comprising a flow sensor configured to measure a flow rate of the pump and a pressure sensor configured to measure a pressure of the pump;
• and
• a control unit communicatively coupled to the sensor unit and configured to:
• receive the flow rate and the pressure from the sensor unit as operating details of the pump;
• determine an identity of the pump from identifying details of the pump;
• retrieve a set of processing rules that are specific to the identity of the pump;
• process the operating details with the set of processing rules to identify a current operational status of the pump;
• and
• transmit data indicative of the current operational status of the pump to a third-party computing system via a network interface.
