Abstract
A fluid pan module may include a fluid pan and a pickup tube. The fluid pan may include a bottom and a pan wall projecting from the bottom. The pickup tube may include an interface portion and a conduit portion connected to and projecting from the interface portion. The interface portion may be connected to the pan wall such that, when an open end of the interface portion is subjected to a force extending toward the bottom of the fluid pan, the interface portion is pressed laterally against the pan wall.
Claims21
A fluid pan module, comprising:
- a fluid pan including a bottom and a pan wall projecting from the bottom;
- and
- a pickup tube including an interface portion and a conduit portion connected to and projecting from the interface portion;
- wherein a first end of the interface portion is connected to the pan wall and a second end of the interface portion disposed opposite the first end is not directly connected to the fluid pan and/or is not directly supported by the fluid pan such that, when an open end of the interface portion is subjected to a force extending toward the bottom of the fluid pan, the interface portion is pressed laterally against the pan wall.

The fluid pan module of claim 16, wherein an end of the interface portion disposed opposite the mounting flange is not directly connected to the fluid pan and/or is not directly supported by the fluid pan.
A fluid pan module, comprising:
- a fluid pan including a bottom and a pan wall projecting from the bottom;
- and
- a pickup tube including:
- an interface portion structured as a cup-shaped body defining a fluid cavity;
- a conduit portion connected to and projecting from the interface portion, the conduit portion defining a fluid passage in fluid communication with the fluid cavity;
- a mounting flange projecting outwardly from the cup-shaped body;
- and
- a protrusion disposed on and projecting transversely from the mounting flange, the protrusion disposed laterally spaced apart from the cup-shaped body;
- and
- wherein the mounting flange is disposed on the pan wall and the protrusion is engaged with a recess of the pan wall such that the interface portion is connected to the pan wall via the mounting flange.
A fluid pan module, comprising:
- a fluid pan including a bottom and a pan wall projecting from the bottom;
- and
- a pickup tube including:
- an interface portion structured as a cup-shaped body defining a fluid cavity;
- a conduit portion connected to and projecting from the interface portion, the conduit portion defining a fluid passage in fluid communication with the fluid cavity;
- a mounting flange projecting outwardly from a sidewall of the cup-shaped body;
- and
- a protrusion disposed on and projecting transversely from the mounting flange;
- wherein the mounting flange is disposed on an interior ledge of the pan wall and the protrusion is engaged with a recess disposed in the interior ledge of the pan wall such that the interface portion is connected to and hangs from the pan wall via the mounting flange;
- and
- wherein the sidewall of the interface portion is pressed laterally against the pan wall at least when an open end of the interface portion is subjected to a force extending toward the bottom of the fluid pan.
