Abstract
Technology for fracturing subterranean geological features during fracturing operations, which includes generating mechanical energy, propagating mechanical energy, and applying mechanical energy to the subterranean geological feature. Application of mechanical energy to the subterranean geological feature may lower fluid friction, extend fracture propagation, and enhance hydrocarbon recovery. Various mechanical energy sources may generate, propagate, and/or apply mechanical energy to the subterranean geological feature, including seismic vibrator trucks, variable-depth piers, surface piers, and scalable deep probes.
Claims20
A system for improving fluid flow and extending fracture propagation in a subterranean geological feature, the system comprising:
- at least two seismic vibrator trucks, at a surface proximate to a wellbore, configured to generate mechanical energy in synchrony, such that the mechanical energy propagates through a subsurface to the subterranean geological feature;
- and
- a drill assembly configured to apply pressure to the material of the subterranean geological feature.
A system for improving fluid flow and extending fracture propagation in a subterranean geological feature, the system comprising:
- a first mechanical energy generator array positioned at a surface proximate to a wellbore, configured to generate first mechanical energy, such that the first mechanical energy propagates through a subsurface to a subterranean geological feature;
- a second mechanical energy generator array positioned at a surface proximate to a wellbore, configured to generate second mechanical energy, such that the second mechanical energy propagates through a subsurface to the subterranean geological feature;
- and
- a drill assembly configured to apply pressure to the material of the subterranean geological feature.
