An automotive Bowden cable device for mechanically coupling an actuating element, for example a motor vehicle door handle, to a functional housing. The functional housing is, for example, a motor vehicle latch housing. The device has a Bowden cable having a core and a sheath and a Bowden cable end piece for the sealed coupling of the Bowden cable to the functional housing. The Bowden cable end piece, is equipped with an inner guide for a core end piece of the Bowden cable. During the installation of the Bowden cable end piece, the core end piece engages over an upright end of a lever protruding from the functional housing in the region of an insertion opening of the Bowden cable in the functional housing. According to the invention, the inner guide in the Bowden cable end piece is designed as a constrained guide that acts on both sides of the core end piece and prevents rotation.
