Abstract
A deck post for edge protection on a floor under construction in a multi-storey building. The deck post comprises an elongate body having an upper end and a lower end. The post has a pour stop hook positioned at or near the lower end of the elongate body. The pour stop hook is releasably engageable with a pour stop of the floor under construction. A clamping sleeve is securable about the elongate body and is releasably engageable with the pour stop. When the pour stop hook is engaged with the pour stop, when the clamping sleeve is engaged with the pour stop, the deck post is secured to the pour stop in a generally vertical orientation.
Claims27
A deck post for edge protection on a floor under construction in a multi-storey building, the deck post comprising:
- an elongate body having an upper end and a lower end,
- a clamping mechanism for releasably engaging the elongate body to a pour stop of the floor under construction, the clamping mechanism comprising:
- a first engager disposed at or near the lower end of the elongate body and configured for releasable engagement with the pour stop,
- a second engager securable about the elongate body and configured for releasably engaging with an upper edge defined by the pour stop the pour stop, and
- a drive mechanism for controlling displacement of the second engager along the elongate body towards or away from the first engager;
- wherein, while the first engager is engaged with the pour stop and while the second engager is engaged with an upwardly extending surface of the pour stop, the deck post is secured to the pour stop in a vertical orientation.
A deck post for edge protection on a floor under construction in a multi-storey building, the deck post comprising:
- an elongate body having an upper end and a lower end,
- one or more fence hooks configured to releasably secure a fence panel thereto,
- a pour stop hook positioned at or near the lower end of the elongate body and having a tip directed toward the upper end of the elongate body, the tip releasably receivable within a hole in a pour stop of the floor under construction,
- a clamping sleeve securable about the elongate body and releasably engageable with the pour stop, wherein, when the pour stop hook is received within the hole in the pour stop and the clamping sleeve is engaged with the pour stop, the deck post is secured to the pour stop in a vertical orientation, and
- a brace having a first end securable to the decking and a second end releasably securable to the deck post.
