Abstract
A flexible clip panel system including in one example: an outer panel having a plurality of perimeter edges; at least one side panel affixed to one of the perimeter edges and extending substantially perpendicular thereto; a frame extrusion affixed to the outer panel and/or the side panel; the frame extrusion also comprising a face protrusion extending from the side protrusion; the face protrusion adjacent to the face panel; a clip configured to be attached to a building surface; the clip having at least one extension, and the extension flexible and resilient, configured to engage a receiver in the frame extrusion.
Claims11
A panel system utilizing a frame assembly having an outer panel with a plurality of perimeter edges;
- at least one side panel affixed to one of the perimeter edges and extending substantially perpendicular to the outer panel;
- a frame extrusion affixed to the outer panel and/or the side panel;
- the frame extrusion comprising a face protrusion extending from the side protrusion, the face protrusion adjacent to the face panel;
- the frame extrusion comprising a first offset extension offset from and substantially parallel to the outer panel;
- a flexible clip configured to be attached to a building surface;
- the flexible clip comprising:
- at least one clip arm;
- the clip arm comprising a first arm and a facing second arm;
- the first arm and the second arm forming a non-linear receiver therebetween with an offset opening between a distal end of the first arm and the distal end of the second arm;
- wherein the non-linear receiver is substantially parallel to the outer panel;
- wherein the first arm is non-planar such that a plane passing through the distal end of the first arm and the distal end of the second arm is also substantially parallel to the outer surface;
- wherein the clip arm is flexible and resilient, configured to receive and retain the first offset extension of the frame extrusion within the non-linear receiver.
A panel system comprising:
- a frame assembly having an outer panel with a plurality of perimeter edges;
- at least one side panel affixed to one of the perimeter edges and extending substantially perpendicular to the outer panel;
- a frame extrusion affixed to the outer panel and/or the side panel;
- the frame extrusion comprising a face protrusion extending from the side protrusion, the face protrusion adjacent to the face panel;
- the frame extrusion comprising a first offset extension offset from and substantially parallel to the outer panel;
- a flexible clip configured to be attached to a building surface;
- the flexible clip comprising:
- at least one clip arm;
- the clip arm comprising a first arm and a facing second arm;
- the first arm and the second arm forming a non-linear receiver therebetween with an offset opening between a distal end of the first arm and the distal end of the second arm;
- wherein the non-linear receiver is parallel to the building surface;
- wherein the first arm is non-planar such that a plane passing through the distal end of the first arm and the distal end of the second arm is also substantially parallel to the building surface;
- wherein the clip arm is flexible and resilient, configured to receive and retain the first offset extension of the frame extrusion within the non-linear receiver.
A flexible clip panel system comprising:
- an outer panel having a plurality of perimeter edges with at least one side panel affixed to one of the perimeter edges, the side panel extending substantially perpendicular to the outer panel;
- a frame extrusion affixed to the outer panel and/or the side panel;
- the frame extrusion comprising a face protrusion extending from the side protrusion, the face protrusion adjacent to the face panel;
- a spear clip configured to be attached to a building surface;
- the spear clip comprising a spear point extending substantially orthogonal to the building surface;
- the frame extrusion comprising a spear point receiving channel;
- the spear point receiving channel having a catch detent extending into the receiving channel;
- wherein the spear point comprises a catch engagement surface configured to pass the catch detent;
- wherein the spear point is configured to compress into the receiving channel at the catch point;
- wherein the spear point is configured to expand into the receiving channel beyond the catch point;
- wherein the catch engagement surface is configured to engage with the catch detent;
- and
- wherein the catch engagement surface is configured to hinder removal of the spear point from the receiving channel.
