Abstract
A fastening system for a wallboard panel to wall framing studs has a base. The base has mounting structures. The mounting structure is constructed as a hole for the base to be secured by a standard fastener or is integrally formed as a threaded fastener. The base has projections formed on the base with interference members firmed on the projections. The interference members may be formed directly on the base. Various combinations of projections and interference members may be used concurrently.

A wallboard attachment device comprising:
- a base with at least one mounting structure;
- and
- at least one interference member extending from the base.
