Abstract

A heat pump dryer includes a cabinet and a basement supported in the cabinet. The basement includes a basement inlet and a basement outlet. A drum is rotatably supported in the cabinet. A heat exchanger is arranged in the basement between the basement inlet and the basement outlet. The basement outlet is in fluid communication with the drum. The heat exchanger includes an evaporator having an evaporator coil and a condenser having a condenser coil. A blower is arranged in the cabinet adjacent to the basement. The blower includes a blower inlet and a blower outlet in fluid communication with the basement inlet. An airflow channel is arranged in fluid communication with and extending between the blower outlet and the basement inlet. A self-supporting flexible filter is arranged in the airflow channel positioned downstream of the blower outlet and upstream of the heat exchanger in the basement.
