Abstract
The present invention relates to a cutting tool with a cemented carbide substrate including WC and 2-20 wt % Ni-based metal binder. The cemented carbide includes Ni and Cr so that the weight ratio Cr/Ni is between 0.06 and 0.20. The cemented carbide has an eta phase in an amount of 1 to 10 vol % and the average grain size of the eta phase grains is between 0.1 and 10 μm. The cemented carbide is free from gamma phase. The cutting tool according to the present invention shows maintained or improved properties compared to cemented carbides having a Co binder.
