Abstract
Modified plants and a method of using the same to improve one or more agronomic traits are provided, wherein the modified plant or a plant part thereof comprises an endogenous or exogenous nucleic acid encoding an Increased Level of Polyploidy 1 (ILP1) polypeptide. Methods of producing a modified plant, and products made from the modified plant, are also provided.

A modified plant or plant part thereof comprising a nucleic acid encoding an Increased Level of Polyploidy 1 (ILP1) protein, wherein the nucleic acid comprises:
- (a) a protein-coding sequence encoding the ILP1 protein, and (b) one or more regulatory elements operably linked to the protein-coding sequence.
