Abstract
Described herein are Cas 12a mutants from Moraxella bovoculi AAX08 and methods for their use. Mb2Cas12a mutants may comprise single amino acid substitutions, multiple amino acid substitutions, domain swaps, or all the above. These mutants have enhanced DNA cleavage activities in plants compared to the wild-type Moraxella bovoculi AAX08 Cas12a enzyme.
