Abstract
A method includes: selectively depositing a photothermal ink in a powder bed, the powder bed containing a powder mixture, the powder mixture including a polymer powder and a porogen powder; subjecting the powder bed to an infrared radiation to form a composite article; and removing the porogen from the composite article to form a porous article, the porous article having a plurality of pores distributed therein, in which the photothermal ink includes a fusing agent, the photothermal ink being characterized by a photothermal response to the infrared radiation enabling the fusing agent to fuse with the polymer.

A method comprising:
- selectively depositing a photothermal ink in a powder bed, the powder bed containing a powder mixture, the powder mixture including a polymer powder and a porogen powder;
- subjecting the powder bed to an infrared radiation to form a composite article;
- and
- removing the porogen from the composite article to form a porous article, the porous article having a plurality of pores distributed therein,
- wherein the photothermal ink comprises a fusing agent, the photothermal ink being characterized by a photothermal response to the infrared radiation enabling the fusing agent to fuse with the polymer.
A method comprising:
- selectively depositing a photothermal ink in a powder bed, the powder bed containing a powder mixture, the powder mixture including a polymer powder and a porogen powder;
- subjecting the powder bed to an infrared radiation to form one or more composite articles;
- and
- removing the porogen from the one or more composite article to form a corresponding one or more porous article, the one or more porous article having a plurality of pores distributed therein,
- wherein the photothermal ink comprises a fusing agent, the photothermal ink being characterized by a photothermal response to the infrared radiation enabling the fusing agent to fuse with the polymer;
- and wherein the one or more porous article forms a solar steam generator, the solar steam generator including:
- a plate, one or more column, and a plurality of tree-like structures;
- and wherein the one or more columns extend from a first side of the plate;
- and wherein the plurality of tree-like structures are disposed on a second side of the plate opposite the first side.
