High-solids triglyceride oil based wood coating compositions

A high-solids wood coating composition comprising, relative to the total weight of the composition:

• from 60.00 to 99.00% by weight [wt. %, herein after] of a triglyceride oil composition, wherein the triglyceride oil composition comprises, relative to the total weight of all fatty acid residues in the triglyceride oil composition, equal to or less than 15.00 wt. % of saturated fatty acid residues (SAFA) and from 30.00 to 85.00 wt. % of at least one fatty acid residue having at least three conjugated double bonds;
• from 0.01 to 2.00 wt. % of at least one metal-based drying agent;
• from 0.50 to 10.00 wt. % of at least one acylphosphine oxide photoinitiator [compound (P1), herein after];
• and
• at least one α-hydroxyalkylphenone photoinitiator [compound (P2), herein after] according to general Formula (IP2) or according to general Formula (IIP2), wherein the compound (P2) is present in an amount as determined by a weight ratio of compound (P2) to compound (P1) ranging from 0.5 to 10.0;
• wherein
• each of X is independently selected from CH2, or 0;
• each of R1, and R2, equal to or different from each other and at each occurrence, is independently selected from C1-4 alkyl;
• wherein R1 and R2 can together form a C5-6 cycloalkyl;
• each of R3, R4, R5, R6, and R7, equal to or different from each other and at each occurrence, is independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, C1-4 alkyl, C1-4 hydroxyalkyl, and OR8, and wherein R8 is independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, C1-4 alkyl, and C1-4 hydroxyalkyl;
• equal to or less than 5.00 wt. % of at least one radically polymerizable (meth)acrylic-functionalized compound different from the compound (P1);
• wherein the composition has a total solids content equal to or greater than 90.00 wt. %, relative to the total weight of the composition, and wherein the total solids content of the composition is measured according to the standard ASTM D2369-20.
