Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a method for producing a plant or an isolated plant cell that produces collagen, a nucleic acid construct for use in the method, and a method for producing a collagen protein using the plant or the isolated plant cell.
Claims13
A method for producing procollagen or collagen from a plant body or an isolated plant cell, comprising steps of:
- A) providing a plant body or an isolated plant cell containing a nucleic acid construct encoding procollagen;
- B) transiently expressing procollagen in the plant body or the isolated plant cell;
- and
- C) separating procollagen or collagen secreted to outside of the cell by step B.
