Provided herein are compounds and pharmaceutical compositions comprising said compounds that are useful for treating diseases, such as cancers. Specific cancers include those that are mediated by YAP/TAZ or those that are modulated by the interaction between YAP/TAZ and TEAD.

A process for the preparation of (R)—N-(1-hydroxypropan-2-yl)-5-(4-(trifluoromethyl)phenoxy)-2-naphthamide, comprising:
- A) the reaction of a compound with the structure:
- with (4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)boronic acid, Cu(OAc)2, and diisopropylethylamine to produce a compound with the structure:
- B) followed by the reaction of the compound with the structure:
- with sodium hydroxide to produce a compound with the structure:
- C) followed by the reaction of the compound with the structure:
- with (R)-2-aminopropan-1-ol, hexafluorophosphate azabenzotriazole tetramethyl uranium (HATU), and diisopropylethylamine to produce (R)—N-(1-hydroxypropan-2-yl)-5-(4-(trifluoromethyl)phenoxy)-2-naphthamide having the structure:
