Abstract
A method to make Z-alkene-containing compounds by electrochemically reacting a 1-alkene with a thianthrene-containing compound to yield a first intermediate and subjecting the first intermediate to an E2 elimination reaction to yield a product comprising a Z-alkenyl moiety in diastereomeric excess.
