Abstract
A device configured to delay when contents of an aerosol canister are released can be configured to attach to a top of the aerosol canister. The device can include at least two magnets separated by a disk. An attraction force of the magnets can eventually overcome a delay created by the disk, thereby allowing the device to actuate a valve of the canister to release the contents therefrom.

A device configured to delay when contents of an aerosol canister are released, the device being configured to attach to a top of the aerosol canister, the device including at least two magnets separated by a disk, wherein after activation of the device the device is configured such that an attraction force of the magnets eventually overcomes a delay created by the disk, thereby allowing the device to actuate the valve of the canister to release the contents therefrom.
A method of delaying release of contents of an aerosol can, the method comprising:
- attaching a non-pyrotechnic device to a top of an aerosol canister;
- and
- moving or removing a safety tab from the device,
- wherein the contents are released after a time delay of 3-5 seconds.
