Abstract
A corrugated cardboard box with a special design of latches and interlocks that allows its rapid assembly manually and optionally automatically by means of a forming machine and does not require the use of glues or adhesives. The box comprises eight latches, where each latch is made up of two parts: a male part and a female part, where, for the assembly of the box, each male part is capable of penetrating a corresponding female part, and where each male part has a pair of notches that secure the latching of the male part inside the corresponding female part to secure the assembly of the box.
Claims5
A corrugated carton capable of being assembled manually or automatically by means of a forming machine and comprising a tray (11) consisting of:
- a base portion (3), having an approximately rectangular shape with beveled corners, a pair of side flaps (4) extending along each side of the base portion (3) and wherein the base portion (3) is joined to each side flap (4) by first folding lines (H1);
- wherein each side flap (4) is joined by means of a double-folding line (H5) to an outer side flap (8) which is bounded at its upper and lower ends by two beveled flaps (10) by third folding lines (H3) facing the outer region of the tray (11);
- wherein the tray (11) further comprises long upper/lower flaps (5) extending respectively upwards and downwards from the base portion (3), and wherein the base portion (3) bounds each of the long upper/lower flaps (5) by a second folding line (H2);
- wherein the beveled flaps (10) are each joined by means of fourth folding lines (H4) to two inner flaps (9),
- wherein the side flap (4) is bounded by a fold line (H7) at its upper end by a short upper flap (6) and by a fold line (H7) at its lower end by a short lower flap (6),
- characterized in that it comprises eight latches, where each latch is made up of two parts:
- a male part (1) and a female part (2), wherein for the assembly of the carton each male part
- (1) is capable of penetrating a corresponding female part (2), and wherein each male part (1) has a pair of notches (12) that fasten the locking of the male part (1) inside the corresponding female part (2), to set the assembly of the carton free from the use of adhesives.
