In one embodiment, a system for transporting a liquid in space comprises one or more expandable containers configured to store a liquid, wherein each container comprises a flexible, collapsible material. The system further comprises a pressure control system in mechanical communication with the container. The pressure control system is configured to apply an external force to maintain an internal pressure sufficient to keep the liquid in a liquid state in a vacuum environment. The system further comprises a fluid transport assembly coupled to the container, wherein the fluid transport assembly comprises at least one nozzle or valve configured for controlled intake and dispensing of the liquid. A control system is further configured to regulate the operation of the pressure control system and the fluid transport assembly to enable controlled intake and dispensing of the liquid.
