A method for assisting the piloting of an aircraft, the aircraft comprising at least one drive train for controlling an aerodynamic control surface, the drive train being provided with a flight control and with a control actuator connected to the flight control, the aircraft comprising a hybrid power plant, the hybrid power plant being provided with at least one heat engine, at least one electric machine, a source of electrical energy and a mechanical transmission system driving a rotation of a rotor,
- wherein the method comprises the following steps:
- measuring at least one characteristic of the at least one heat engine, of the mechanical transmission system or of the rotor;
- determining a threshold relating to a functional parameter of the hybrid power plant as a function of the at least one characteristic;
- calculating a limit position of the flight control for which the functional parameter of the hybrid power plant is equal to the threshold;
- measuring a current position of the flight control;
- and
- applying a first force to the flight control using the control actuator according to a predetermined force law when the current position of the flight control exceeds the limit position, the predetermined force law being a function at least of a current amount of electrical energy of the source.
