Abstract
A waterjet-propelled vessel includes a hull, a drive source, a jet propulsor configured to generate a water flow using rotational power of the drive source, and forward and reverse transmission parts respectively including a forward clutch and a reverse clutch each selectively switchable between engaged and disengaged states. When switching the jet propulsor from a forward rotation state to a reverse rotation state, while the forward clutch remains engaged the drive source is stopped, then the reverse clutch is switched to the engaged state, and thereafter the forward clutch is switched to the disengaged state. This control prevents free rotation of the impeller and enables smooth clutch operation when clearing clogging.
Claims3
A waterjet-propelled boat comprising:
- a hull;
- a drive source mounted on the hull;
- a jet propulsor that generates a water flow by rotational power of the drive source;
- a forward transmission part that transmits rotational power of the drive source to the jet propulsor in a forward rotation state, the forward transmission part including a forward clutch configured to be selectively switchable between an engaged state and a disengaged state for transmitting rotational power in the forward rotation state;
- and
- a reverse transmission part that transmits rotational power of the drive source to the jet propulsor in a reverse rotation state, the reverse transmission part including a reverse clutch configured to be selectively switchable between an engaged state and a disengaged state for transmitting rotational power in the reverse rotation state;
- wherein, when switching the jet propulsor from a forward rotation state to a reverse rotation state, the following actions are performed in order:
- while the forward clutch remains in the engaged state, the drive source is stopped;
- then the reverse clutch is switched to the engaged state;
- and thereafter the forward clutch is switched to the disengaged state.
A waterjet-propelled vessel comprising:
- a hull;
- a drive source mounted on the hull;
- a jet propulsor that generates a water flow by rotational power of the drive source;
- and
- a forward transmission part that transmits the rotational power of the drive source to the jet propulsor in a forward rotation state, the forward transmission part including a forward clutch configured to be selectively switchable between an engaged state and a disengaged state for transmitting rotational power in the forward rotation state;
- and
- a reverse transmission part that transmits the rotational power of the drive source to the jet propulsor in a reverse rotation state, the reverse transmission part including a reverse clutch configured to be selectively switchable between an engaged state and a disengaged state for transmitting rotational power in the reverse rotation state;
- wherein when operating the jet propulsor in the reverse rotation state, set the drive source to an idling state,
- and stop the drive source during a period after the forward/reverse mechanism disengage the forward clutch and before the forward/reverse mechanism engage the reverse clutch.
