Abstract

An intermodal container attachment for reducing drag of an intermodal container when coupled to a tractor unit. The intermodal container attachment comprises at least one aerodynamic panel and at least one attachment portion coupled to the at least one aerodynamic panel. The attachment portion is configured to reversibly couple to an intermodal container such that the at least one aerodynamic panel is configured to be arranged adjacent to a first surface of the intermodal container, the first surface of the intermodal container situated furthest away from the tractor unit. The aerodynamic panel is configured to be arranged at an acute angle relative to the first surface of the intermodal container when the attachment portion is coupled thereto. A skeletal trailer is also provided, comprising a chassis; and the intermodal container attachment, with the attachment coupled to its chassis.
