Abstract
A monitoring system for identifying vehicle systems within a yard is recited. One or more cameras is positioned at the yard and each has a field of view that has at least a portion of one or more routes within the yard. The one or more cameras captures image data of vehicle systems within the field of view. One or more processors receives the image data captured by the one or more cameras, detects, in the image data, identification devices positioned on exterior surface of the vehicle systems within the yard, and identifies the vehicle systems within the yard based on the detected identification devices.
Claims20
A monitoring system for identifying vehicle systems within a yard, comprising:
- one or more cameras positioned at the yard and each having a field of view that includes at least a portion of one or more routes within the yard, the one or more cameras configured to capture image data of vehicle systems within the field of view;
- and
- one or more processors configured to:
- receive the image data captured by the one or more cameras;
- detect, in the image data, identification devices positioned on exterior surfaces of the vehicle systems within the yard;
- and
- identify the vehicle systems the yard based on the detected identification devices.
A monitoring system, comprising:
- identification devices each determining unique identity data of a plurality of vehicle systems along one or more routes;
- and
- one or more processors configured to:
- receive the determined identity data of the plurality of vehicle systems from the identification devices;
- and
- identify the plurality of vehicle systems along the one or more routes based on the received identity data of the plurality of vehicle systems.
A method, comprising:
- capturing, via one or more cameras, image data of identification devices of a plurality of vehicle systems along one or more routes within a field of view of the one or more cameras;
- identifying, via the one or more processors, the plurality of the vehicle systems along the one or more routes based on the captured image data.
