Abstract
A hybrid electric vehicle includes a hybrid powertrain having an engine and a drive motor. The hybrid electric vehicle also includes a control unit configured to determine whether a road ahead of the vehicle is flooded and adjust working points of the drive motor and the engine according to an output demanded by a driver, based on a required exhaust pressure of the engine needed to prevent flooding through an exhaust outlet, in response to determining that the road is flooded.
Claims18
A hybrid electric vehicle, comprising:
- a hybrid powertrain having an engine and a drive motor;
- and
- a control unit configured to i) determine whether a road ahead of the hybrid electric vehicle is flooded and ii) adjust working points of the drive motor and the engine according to an output demanded by a driver, based on a required exhaust pressure of the engine to avoid flooding through an exhaust outlet, in response to determining that the road ahead is flooded.
A method of driving control for a hybrid electric vehicle, the method comprising:
- determining, by a control unit, whether a road ahead of the hybrid electric vehicle is flooded;
- determining, by the control unit, required exhaust pressure of an engine to avoid flooding through an exhaust outlet, in response to determining that the road ahead is flooded;
- and
- adjusting, by the control unit, working points of the engine and a drive motor based on an output demanded by a driver based on the required exhaust pressure.
