Vehicle control device

A vehicle control device comprises:

• a processor configured to:
• determine whether or not a lane change condition is satisfied based on a position of a vehicle or an operation signal indicating an operation by a driver of the vehicle, the lane change condition being a condition that execution of lane change control for moving the vehicle from a host lane on which the vehicle is traveling to an adjacent lane adjacent to the host lane is required, or the execution of the lane change control is predicted,
• determine whether or not a deceleration condition is satisfied based on a behavior signal representing a behavior of the vehicle or an exterior sensor signal representing a situation around the vehicle, the deceleration condition being a condition that execution of a predetermined deceleration control for decelerating the vehicle is required, and
• execute the predetermined deceleration control so that the decelerated speed of the vehicle by the predetermined deceleration control is equal to or higher than a lower limit speed at which the lane change control can be executed, and executes the lane change control, when both the lane change condition and the deceleration condition are satisfied, and a priority of the predetermined deceleration control is lower than a priority of the lane change control.
