Systems and methods for locking battery unit and electric vehicle

A method for decoupling a battery unit arranged on or at least partially in an electric vehicle, from said electric vehicle, preferably in a system according to any one of the preceding claims, the method comprising:

• electrically disconnecting a first electrical connector, being part of either the battery unit or the electric vehicle, from a second electrical connector, being part of the other of the battery unit or the electric vehicle,
• detecting, by a first sensor, whether there is no electrical connection between the electric vehicle and the battery unit;
• enabling, based on a first signal of the first sensor, a locking mechanism, configured to mechanically connect the battery unit, when arranged on or at least partially in the electric vehicle, to the electric vehicle;
• mechanically disconnecting, by the locking mechanism, the battery unit from the electric vehicle.
