Automatic Anti-Roll Bar Control System

A vehicle comprising:

• an anti-roll bar system comprising an anti-roll bar, an electronically controlled link responsive to control signals for implementing anti-roll bar system modes,
• the anti-roll bar and the electronically controlled link being collectively configured and operatively coupled to the vehicle such that a degree of stiffness applied by the anti-roll bar between opposite side wheel supports of the vehicle is adjustable based on the control signals between a minimal degree of stiffness and a maximum degree of stiffness;
• a computer system, the computer system being configured for automatically selecting an operating mode of the anti-roll bar system by:
• receiving, through a video camera of the vehicle, a sequence of image frames representing upcoming terrain in a direction of travel of the vehicle;
• predicting, using a first fitted inference model, based on the sequence of image frames, a sequence of candidate mode predictions for the anti-roll bar system, wherein the candidate mode predictions correspond to a set of predefined modes for anti-roll bar system, the set of predefined modes including at least a first mode corresponding to the minimal degree of stiffness and a second mode corresponding to the maximum degree of stiffness;
• determining, based on the sequence of candidate mode predictions, an anti-roll bar system mode;
• and
• causing an appropriate control signal to be applied to the electronically controlled link to cause the anti-roll bar system to implement the anti-roll bar system mode.
