A control method of a printing apparatus including

• a printing unit configured to perform printing on a conveyed print medium,
• a stacking unit configured to be capable of stacking the print medium conveyed and discharged, by use of a first stacking part and a second stacking part installed to be movable in a first direction relative to the first stacking part, and
• a detection unit configured to be capable of detecting a position of the second stacking part by movement of the second stacking part in the first direction,
• wherein the first direction includes an extending direction in which the stacking unit extends and a contracting direction in which the extended stacking unit contracts,
• the control method comprising
• acquiring the position of the second stacking part at a start of printing, in accordance with a detection result obtained by the detection unit while the second stacking part is moved in the extending direction of the first direction.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing a program for causing a computer to perform a control method of a printing apparatus including

• a printing unit configured to perform printing on a conveyed print medium,
• a stacking unit configured to be capable of stacking the print medium conveyed and discharged, by use of a first stacking part and a second stacking part installed to be movable in a first direction relative to the first stacking part, and
• a detection unit configured to be capable of detecting a position of the second stacking part by movement of the second stacking part in the first direction,
• wherein the first direction includes an extending direction in which the stacking unit extends and a contracting direction in which the extended stacking unit contracts,
• the control method comprising
• acquiring the position of the second stacking part at a start of printing, in accordance with a detection result obtained by the detection unit while the second stacking part is moved in the extending direction of the first direction.
