Abstract
According to an embodiment, an image processing apparatus includes a memory and a processor. The memory stores setting information that sets the number of continuous print dots in the main scanning direction and the number of continuous print dots in the sub scanning direction, which are thinning conditions to execute thinning of print dots. The processor generates second image data by thinning, in accordance with the setting information, print dots from a print dot group for which the number of continuous print dots in the main scanning direction and the number of continuous print dots in the sub scanning direction in first image data match the thinning conditions.
Claims20
An image processing apparatus used in a thermal printer and configured to process image data, comprising:
- a memory configured to store setting information in which the number of continuous print dots in a main scanning direction and the number of continuous print dots in a sub-scanning direction as a thinning condition to execute thinning of a print dot are set;
- and
- a processor configured to generate second image data by thinning a print dot in accordance with the setting information from a print dot group in which the number of continuous print dots in the main scanning direction and the number of continuous print dots in the sub-scanning direction in first image data match the thinning condition.
A printer comprising:
- a thermal head including a plurality of heating elements arranged in a main scanning direction;
- a memory configured to store setting information in which the number of continuous print dots in the main scanning direction and the number of continuous print dots in a sub-scanning direction as a thinning condition to execute thinning of a print dot are set;
- a processor configured to generate second image data by thinning a print dot in accordance with the setting information from a print dot group in which the number of continuous print dots in the main scanning direction and the number of continuous print dots in the sub-scanning direction in first image data match the thinning condition;
- and
- a driving unit configured to drive the thermal head in accordance with the second image data.
A non-transitory storage medium storing a program configured to cause a processor that is used in a thermal printer and configured to process image data to execute:
- setting the number of continuous print dots in a main scanning direction and the number of continuous print dots in a sub-scanning direction as a thinning condition to execute thinning of a print dot;
- counting the number of continuous print dots in the main scanning direction and the number of continuous print dots in the sub-scanning direction in first image data;
- and
- generating second image data by thinning a print dot from a print dot group matching the thinning condition in the first image data.
