An inkjet recording apparatus includes a recording head, a tank, and a circulation flow passage. The recording head has a plurality of nozzles through which ink is ejected onto a recording medium. The tank stores ink fed from a container at a predetermined normal liquid level and feeds the stored ink to the recording head. Through the circulation flow passage, ink circulates from the tank via the recording head to the tank. A branch flow passage of which one end is connected to a bottom part of the tank and the other is connected to a top part of the tank is transparent. The connection face between one end of the branch flow passage and the tank is located higher than the normal liquid level but lower than a raised liquid level of ink to which ink temporarily rises when ink returns via the circulation flow passage to the tank.
