Abstract
A printing apparatus performs first processing of waiting by until a detected temperature of a printing unit after a refreshing operation detected by a temperature detection unit becomes equal to or lower than a predetermined threshold temperature, performs second processing in which the refreshing operation and the first processing are repeated a second number of times, counts a cumulative value of a wait time in the second processing, and determines that it is difficult to eject a liquid in a case where the cumulative value in the second processing becomes equal to or more than a threshold.
Claims33
A printing apparatus, comprising:
- a printing unit of ejecting a liquid;
- a temperature detection unit of detecting a temperature of the printing unit;
- a refreshing unit of performing a refreshing operation in which the printing unit ejects the liquid at a predetermined frequency;
- a first processing execution unit of performing first processing of waiting by until a detected temperature of the printing unit after the refreshing operation detected by the temperature detection unit becomes equal to or lower than a predetermined threshold temperature;
- a second processing execution unit of performing second processing in which the refreshing operation and the first processing are repeated a first number of times;
- a counting unit of counting a cumulative value of a wait time in the second processing;
- and
- a determination unit of determining that the printing unit is in a state where it is difficult to eject the liquid in a case where the cumulative value in the second processing becomes equal to or more than a threshold.
A control method for a printing apparatus including a printing unit of ejecting a liquid, the control method comprising the step of:
- detecting a temperature of the printing unit;
- performing a refreshing operation in which the printing unit ejects the liquid at a predetermined frequency;
- performing first processing of waiting by until a detected temperature of the printing unit after the refreshing operation becomes equal to or lower than a predetermined threshold temperature;
- performing second processing in which the refreshing operation and the first processing are repeated a first number of times;
- counting a cumulative value of a wait time in the second processing;
- and
- determining that the printing unit is in a state where it is difficult to eject the liquid in a case where the cumulative value in the second processing becomes equal to or more than a threshold.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having computer-executable instructions for causing a computer to perform steps comprising:
- detecting a temperature of a printing unit;
- performing a refreshing operation in which the printing unit ejects a liquid at a predetermined frequency;
- performing first processing of waiting by until a detected temperature of the printing unit after the refreshing operation becomes equal to or lower than a predetermined threshold temperature;
- performing second processing in which the refreshing operation and the first processing are repeated a first number of times;
- counting a cumulative value of a wait time in the second processing;
- and
- determining that the printing unit is in a state where it is difficult to eject the liquid in a case where the cumulative value in the second processing becomes equal to or more than a threshold.
