Abstract
A method of forming equipment using an additive manufacturing process includes: forming, by the additive manufacturing process, a base portion of the equipment; changing one or more settings of at least one laser used in the additive manufacturing process; and forming, by the additive manufacturing process after changing the one or more settings of the laser, a surface on an outside of the base portion of the equipment, the surface being microtextured, nanotextured, or a combination thereof.
Claims10
A method of forming equipment using an additive manufacturing process, the method comprising:
- forming, by the additive manufacturing process, a base portion of the equipment;
- changing one or more settings of at least one laser used in the additive manufacturing process;
- and
- forming, by the additive manufacturing process after changing the one or more settings of the laser, a surface on an outside of the base portion of the equipment, the surface being microtextured, nanotextured, or a combination thereof.
A method of forming equipment using an additive manufacturing process, the method comprising:
- forming, by a first process different from additive manufacturing, a base portion of the equipment;
- and
- forming, by the additive manufacturing process, a surface on an outside of the base portion of the equipment, the surface being microtextured, nanotextured, or a combination thereof.
A method of forming equipment using an additive manufacturing process, the method comprising:
- forming a base portion of the equipment;
- forming, by the additive manufacturing process, a surface on an outside of the base portion of the equipment;
- and
- performing a surface treatment on the surface by reacting the surface with one or more chemical compounds to modify the structure and/or the composition of the surface, wherein the modified surface resulting from the surface treatment is microtextured, nanotextured, or a combination thereof.
