Abstract
A food processing system for processing a food product includes a conveyor configured to convey the food product in a first direction, a sensing system configured to sense the food product on the conveyor and output corresponding signals, a control system that receives the signals from the sensing system and determine orientation of the food product on the conveyor, and a robot configured to engage the food product, move the food product in the first direction, reorientate the food product, and release the food product onto the conveyor when the control system determines that the food product is improperly orientated.

A method for processing a food product, the method including:
- conveying, with a conveyor, the food product in a first direction;
- sensing, with a sensing system, the food product;
- determining, with a control system, orientation of the food product;
- engaging, with a robot, the food product;
- reorienting, with the robot, the food product;
- and
- placing, with the robot, the food product onto the conveyor.
A food processing system for processing a food product, the food processing system comprising:
- a conveyor configured to convey the food product in a first direction;
- a sensing system configured to sense the food product on the conveyor and output corresponding signals;
- a control system that receives the signals from the sensing system and determine orientation of the food product on the conveyor;
- a robot configured to engage the food product, reorientate the food product, and release the food product onto the conveyor when the control system determines that the food product is improperly orientated.
