Abstract
An assembly for enclosing a sanding belt of a belt and disc sander and a method for manufacturing an assembly for enclosing a sanding belt of a belt and disc sander are provided. The assembly includes a flip cover and a fastening mechanism. The flip cover is configured to enclose at least a portion of the sanding belt. The fastening mechanism secures the flip cover to the belt and disc sander while allowing rotational movement of the flip cover. The flip cover is selectively positionable in one of a locked horizontal position and an unlocked position. The flip cover includes an extending portion and a stepped opening having a holding portion and a securing portion. The fastening mechanism includes a lock shaft extending through the holding portion.
Claims20
An assembly for enclosing a sanding belt of a belt and disc sander, the assembly comprising:
- a flip cover configured to enclose at least a portion of the sanding belt;
- and
- a fastening mechanism securing the flip cover to the belt and disc sander while allowing rotational movement of the flip cover, wherein the flip cover is selectively positionable in one of a locked horizontal position and an unlocked position.
A method for manufacturing an assembly for enclosing a sanding belt of a belt and disc sander, the method comprising:
- providing a flip cover configured to enclose at least a portion of the sanding belt;
- and
- providing a fastening mechanism securing the flip cover to the belt and disc sander while allowing rotational movement of the flip cover, wherein the flip cover is selectively positionable in one of a locked horizontal position and an unlocked position.
