Abstract
Methods and systems for the laminated object manufacturing of metal parts. Some embodiments include a method that includes bonding a plurality of metal sheets to form a workpiece comprising at least one pre-form blank having a variable thickness and at least one support region; and subjecting the workpiece to a mechanical forming process to form the part from the at least one pre-form blank.

A method to produce a part via laminated object manufacturing, the method comprising:
- bonding a plurality of metal sheets to form a workpiece comprising at least one pre-form blank and at least one support region;
- and
- subjecting the workpiece to a mechanical forming process to form the part from the at least one pre-form blank.
A system for additive manufacturing of a part via laminated object manufacturing, the system comprising:
- an additive manufacturing device configured to bond a plurality of metal sheets to form a workpiece comprising at least one pre-form blank and at least one support region;
- and
- a forming machine configured to subject the workpiece to a mechanical forming process to form the part from the at least one pre-form blank.
