Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a perovskite-based mixed metal oxides represented by the formula ABX3 and a method of preparation thereof. The perovskite-based mixed metal oxide is represented by formula ABX3 wherein A is rare-earth metal(s), alkaline metal(s), ions with a large radius or mixture thereof, B represents transition metal(s), and X is oxygen and the metal oxides have a shape selected from cube, oval, rod or mixture thereof. The invention also relates to obtaining multiple shapes of a single perovskite-based mixed metal oxide with varying exposed facets affording broad tunability of the oxides.

Perovskite-based mixed metal oxides having the formula ABX3, wherein A is selected from a group consisting of one or more rare-earth metals, one or more alkaline metals, one or more ions with a large radius and mixtures thereof, B is one or more transition metals, and X is oxygen, wherein the mixed-metal oxides have one or more shapes with exposed facets selected from cubic, oval, rod, spherical, orthorhombic, tetragonal, hexagonal or combinations thereof.
