Method and Device For Laboratory Formulation and Chemical Vending

A package for storage of discrete quantities of a reagent comprising:

• a first sheet defining a plurality of cavities;
• a second sheet sealed over the cavities;
• a quantity of the reagent disposed within each of the cavities;
• wherein opening a cavity displaces a portion of the second sheet while leaving the portion integrally connected to the second sheet;
• and
• wherein the second sheet is configured to remain a continuous piece following the opening of the cavity such that no detached fragments of the second sheet are released from the package.

A method of manufacturing a package for storage of discrete quantities of a reagent comprising:

• forming a plurality of cavities in a first sheet;
• placing quantities of the reagent within the cavities;
• forming weakening patterns in a second sheet corresponding to the cavities, each weakening pattern extending around less than an entire perimeter of the corresponding cavity;
• and
• sealing the second sheet to the first sheet;
• wherein the weakening patterns are configured such that rupture of the second sheet exposes a majority of the corresponding cavity while leaving a displaced portion of the second sheet attached to the second sheet.
