Filter element for use with dust collector & other applications

A filter element comprising:

• (a) a media pack having first and second opposite axial ends to provide straight through filter flow;
• and a side wall extending between the first and second axial ends;
• (i) the media pack having first and second opposite flow faces and a plurality of flutes;
• each of the flutes having a first portion adjacent to the first flow face and a second portion adjacent to second flow face;
• selected ones of the flutes being open at the first portion and closed at the second portion, and adjacent flutes being closed at the first portion and open at the second portion;
• (ii) the first flow face being an outflow face, and the second flow face being an inflow face;
• (b) a gasket support secured to the media pack;
• the gasket support having an annular wall and a plate extending radially therefrom and away from the media pack;
• (i) the plate having a first axial surface away from the media pack, and an opposite second axial surface toward the annular wall;
• (ii) a gasket member secured to the second axial surface of the plate;
• the gasket member being radially spaced from the annular wall of the gasket support and from the side wall of the media pack by a receiving cavity, and extending in a direction toward the media pack;
• and
• (c) a deflector secured to the first flow face.
