Abstract
The disclosed concepts relate to tracking and representing help sessions for video games where video game players are assisted by a helper, e.g., another video game player and/or a trained machine learning model. For instance, the disclosed implementations can graphically modify a controllable entity, such as a character or vehicle, to convey that the current video game player is being assisted by a helper. As another example, the disclosed implementations can graphically modify game achievements to indicate when a given achievement was earned with assistance from a helper.
Claims21
1-20. (canceled)
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- initiating a help session for a particular video game player from a help session starting state, the help session involving a video game helper assisting the particular video game player with gameplay of a particular video game;
- receiving video output of the particular video game during the help session;
- modifying the video output of the particular video game during the help session with an indication that the particular video game player is receiving assistance from the video game helper;
- and
- providing modified video output for display during the help session.
A system comprising:
- processing resources;
- and
- storage resources storing computer-readable instructions which, when executed by the processing resources, cause the processing resources to:
- initiate a help session for a particular video game player from a help session starting state, the help session involving a video game helper assisting the particular video game player with gameplay of a particular video game;
- receive video output of the particular video game during the help session;
- modify the video output of the particular video game during the help session with an indication that the particular video game player is receiving assistance from the video game helper;
- and
- provide modified video output for display during the help session.
A computer-readable storage medium storing computer-readable instructions which, when executed by a hardware processing unit, cause the hardware processing unit to perform acts comprising:
- initiating a help session for a particular video game player from a help session starting state, the help session involving a video game helper assisting the particular video game player with gameplay of a particular video game;
- receiving video output of the particular video game during the help session;
- modifying the video output of the particular video game during the help session with an indication that the particular video game player is receiving assistance from the video game helper;
- and
- providing modified video output for display during the help session.
