Abstract
Described herein is a fielder's protective mask that features a wire form cage constructed with a wire loop that includes a chin region, jaw regions, and a forehead region. The wire form cage is attached to an assembly base consisting of a left base and a right base. Each of the left base and the right base includes a rotating strap retainer and an overhead strap pocket. The mask has an overhead strap with two contact points, with each overhead strap pocket holding and retaining one of the two ends of the overhead strap. A retention strap with two ends is also part of the design, where each rotating strap retainer holds and retains one of the two ends of the retention strap. The mask is completed with a visor system that attaches to both the wire form cage and the assembly base.
Claims6
A fielder's protective mask comprising:
- a wire form cage, the wire form cage comprising a wire loop comprising a chin region, jaw regions, and a forehead region;
- an assembly base attached to the wire form cage, the assembly base comprising a left base and a right base, wherein each of the left base and the right base comprise a rotating strap retainer and an overhead strap pocket;
- an overhead strap with two contact points, wherein each overhead strap pocket holds and retains one of the two contact points of the overhead strap;
- a retention strap with two ends, wherein each rotating strap retainer holds and retains one of the two ends of the retention strap;
- further wherein the rotating strap retainer can rotate;
- and
- a visor system attached to the wire form cage and the assembly base.
