Abstract
The present invention is to provide a sensing device and method for detecting a moving golf ball that fundamentally resolves the cause of errors in sensing results according to conventional technologies in detecting the movement of a golf ball using a light-sensing type golf putting sensing device, thereby further improving the precision of the sensing results.
Claims15
A device for sensing a golf ball in optical sensing manner comprising:
- a light emitting assembly that is provided on one side of a path along which the golf ball moves after being struck from an arbitrary initial position, and configured to include a plurality of light emitters emitting light beams toward the other side;
- a light receiving assembly that is provided on the other side, and configured to include a plurality of light receivers receiving the light beams emitted by the plurality of light emitters;
- and
- a controller that as the moving golf ball passes through each of the light beams emitted by each of the plurality of light emitters to each of the plurality of light receivers, collects information on each time point at which the golf ball begins to block each of the light beams and on each time point at which the golf ball finally blocks each of the light beams as sensing data to calculate movement characteristic information for the golf ball moving from an arbitrary initial position.
A method for sensing a golf ball of an optical sensing device in which a plurality of light emitters emit light beams on one side of a path through which the golf ball hits and moves at an arbitrary initial position, a plurality of light receivers receive the light beams on the other side, and a controller detects the movement of the golf ball through the detection result of each of the plurality of light receivers, the method comprising:
- receiving each light beam emitted by each of the plurality of light emitters;
- measuring the time point when the golf ball begins to block each light beam and the time point when the golf ball finally blocks each light beam In the process of moving while the golf ball blocks each light beam sequentially;
- and
- collecting each of the measurement points as sensing data to calculate movement characteristic information of the golf ball starting from an arbitrary initial position.
