Abstract
An exercise machine includes a lifting bar pivotally mounted to a frame at a pivot point. A plurality of self-locking weight plate rods are fixed along the lifting bar, each comprising a seat portion and a larger-diameter locking portion to secure at least one weight plate. The total weight load is determined by the distance of the weight plate from the pivot point, allowing a single weight plate to produce multiple weight loads via leverage. A pusher is operatively connected to the lifting bar via a cable-and-pulley assembly to control movement of the lifting bar.
Claims6
An exercise machine, comprising:
- a frame;
- a lifting bar pivotally coupled to the frame at a pivot point, wherein the lifting bar is configured for upward and downward travel;
- at least one weight plate;
- a plurality of self-locking weight plate rods fixed along the lifting bar for securing the weight plate;
- wherein the total weight load carried by the lifting bar is determined by the distance of the secured weight plate on a selected self-locking weight plate rod from the pivot point;
- and
- a pusher operatively connected to the lifting bar by a cable and pulley, wherein movement of the pusher results in vertical displacement of the lifting bar.
