Devices, systems, and methods for treating a spinal cord injury. A spinal cord injury system may include a regenerative device, such as a sleeve, collar, or cuff that fully or partially encircles an injured segment of a spinal cord of a patient. The regenerative device may include a porous or mesh scaffold structure configured to stabilize the local microenvironment, reduce mechanical irritation, and promote axonal regrowth across an injury site. The system may optionally include smart components, such as sensors or electrodes, for diagnostic and/or therapeutic functionality. Alternatively, or in addition, the spinal cord injury system may include a pair of signal transfer devices for communicating signals across the spinal cord injury.
