Transformable structures for therapy

A method comprising:

• generating a structure, the structure comprising a pattern of repeating unit cells configured to convert the structure between a compact configuration and an expanded configuration, wherein:
• the structure is substantially flat in the compact configuration,
• the structure defines one or more three-dimensional contours in the expanded configuration, and
• each unit cell of the repeating unit cells comprises a plurality of elements having increased distances between adjacent elements of the plurality of elements in the expanded configuration as compared to the compact configuration;
• and attaching one or more electrodes to the structure.

A system comprising:

• a bi-stable auxetic structure comprising a pattern of repeating auxetic unit cells configured to convert the bi-stable auxetic structure between a compact configuration and an expanded configuration upon application of a tension force to the bi-stable auxetic structure, wherein:
• the bi-stable auxetic structure is substantially flat in the compact configuration,
• the bi-stable auxetic structure defines one or more three-dimensional contours in the expanded configuration,
• each auxetic unit cell of the pattern of repeating auxetic unit cells comprises a plurality of elements having increased distances between adjacent elements of the plurality of elements in the expanded configuration as compared to the compact configuration,
• the compact configuration is a first stable configuration,
• the expanded configuration is a second stable configuration, and
• the bi-stable structure is unstable in configurations between the first stable configuration and the second stable configuration;
• and
• one or more electrodes disposed on the structure in one or more locations corresponding to pre-determined target locations within a patient for therapy delivery.
