Powder inhalation system

A powder inhalation system comprising:

• a container configured to accommodate a powder to be inhaled;
• a powder inhaler comprising:
• a chamber configured to receive the container;
• a piercing element configured to form an opening in the container when the container is disposed in the chamber;
• a mouthpiece having an inhalation port;
• and
• a transport line for transporting the powder from the container toward the inhalation port;
• and
• an obstructing portion disposed in the transport line and configured to obstruct part of a flow of the powder when a user inhales.

A powder inhalation system comprising:

• a container configured to accommodate a powder to be inhaled;
• a cartridge configured to hold the container, the cartridge comprising:
• a tubular member having a wall formed by a transparent or semitransparent material;
• a mouthpiece having an inhalation port;
• and
• a transport line defined within the tubular member for transporting the powder toward the inhalation port;
• and
• a powder inhaler comprising:
• a chamber configured to receive the container held by the cartridge;
• and
• a piercing element configured to form an opening in the container when the container is disposed in the chamber;
• and
• an obstructing portion disposed in the transport line and configured to obstruct part of a flow of the powder when a user inhales.

A powder inhaler comprising:

• a chamber configured to receive a container that accommodates a powder to be inhaled;
• a piercing element configured to form an opening in the container when the container is disposed in the chamber;
• a sensor configured to detect a pressure applied to the piercing element;
• circuitry configured to determine whether the piercing element has formed an opening in the container based on the pressure detected by the sensor;
• a mouthpiece having an inhalation port;
• a transport line for transporting the powder from the container toward the inhalation port;
• and
• an obstructing portion disposed in the transport line and configured to obstruct part of a flow of the powder when a user inhales.
