Abstract

The present invention relates to the field of prevention of herpes infections, in particularly to a pharmaceutical composition for oromucosal administration for vaccination against cytomegalovirus infections and the use of cytomegalovirus glycoprotein B. The pharmaceutical composition comprises, as an active ingredient, cytomegalovirus glycoprotein B, which is releasably contained in the pharmaceutical composition in a carrier for oromucosal administration of physiologically active agents, comprising at least one flexible active layer of polymeric nanofibers in which cytomegalovirus glycoprotein B is releasably contained, and at least one cover layer of polymeric nanofibers.

Dependent claims

A pharmaceutical composition for oromucosal administration, comprising:

at least one coating layer comprising a water insoluble, pharmaceutically acceptable polymer, and a conductive agent, wherein the at least one coating layer is formulated as polymeric nanofibers formed by electrospinning,
an active layer comprising a water soluble and pharmaceutically acceptable polymer, a conductive agent, and cytomegalovirus glycoprotein B as the active ingredient, wherein the at least one active layer is formulated as polymeric nanofibers formed by electrospinning wherein the active layer is flexible and moldable.
